1996 Cobra Door Panel Removal Question
I have a 1996 Cobra with 15,000 original miles. I recently noticed that a mouse or some other small animal has crawled into the passenger side door panel and chewed the insulation. Every time you shut the passenger door it looks like it's snowing insulation. Does anyone know how to remove the passenger side door panel on a 1996 Cobra? I am worried about damaging it. If you have any pictures of the removal process, that would be even better. Thanks.
First you need to pull the rivet plastic screw "thing" out frombehind (on the inside door hinge is)where the door speaker is. Probably will need some plyers. Then use a flat head to slide into that gap above your door handle and pry that plastic plate off. Be careful because there are some tabs that also hold that plastic peice and if those are broken then you will have a loose peice forever. Next you unscrew the window switches and the 2 screws that drill through the door panel into a brace. After those screws have beed removed you can lift from the bottom of the door and you will fill it slide up the door handle also has a plastic plate which can be poped out but does not have to be (makes it alot easeir if removed and less chance of damaging your door speaker). Then it should come off and the final step is unpluging the window motor. As long as your gentle you shouldn't damage a thing.
Tools required to take your panel off.
Flat Head Screw Driver
Philip Head Screw Driver
1. If you look at the door where your hand grip is, there will be a little flat part right above your hand. Put flat head in there and press down and pull out. The plastic door handle will come right off.
2. Using the Philips head screw driver unscrew your door lock/window box. Leave that hanging.
3. Now look aroundwhere you took your door handle off and you will see "about" 3 philips head screws. Unscrew them.
4. Your door trim is ready to come off. Grab the bottom of your trim and lift up and it should come right out. (DO NOT PULL UP AND BACK YOU CAN BRAKE YOUR CLIPS HOLDING ON THE DOOR PANEL)

Thank you so much for your help! Your directions for the door panel removal were perfect. It was really easy to do. When I took the door panel off, there was a nest and a dead mouse in the door. The mouse had chewed some of the door insulation. Thanks again for your help.
