Default Information please?

Don't flame me yet for having a V6! Read the post!

Theres this guy I know that is selling his 2001 SVT Cobra 'Vert with a few mods, nothing really worth listing. The car has 83,000 miles on the clock, and he was asking $12,500 ... I talked him down to $10,000. The paint on the car is flawless except for the hood, which for one reason or another was repainted and done fairly poorly. It's chipped in a few places. Other than that, the interior is clean (although the leather is SLIGHTLY worn). The car is black with a PB top, and black interior. Car looks pretty sharp, but is $10,000 too much for a 2001 Cobra 'Vert with 83,000 miles?

Nope, I think $10K is about right.

And would it be wise to sell my 2002 V6 and use the Cobra as a DD even with that many miles on it? How many miles before that engine craps out???

depends 100% on how poorly maintained and abused it has been througout its life. If its been taken care of, you shouldnt have a problem DD'ing it.

+1. If it was maintained properly then 83,000 is nothing for a 4v motor. Cobras are great DD's.

Well he's never brought the car to the track or anything, but we all know that he has gotten on the car often since it is a Cobra after all, lol. So 10,000 is about the right price? And how much would it cost to get the hood re-painted the right way, and the drivers seat leather fixed (nothing big, just a little faded on the side)?

I would say its worth it. The engine is built to be pushed we mean maintained as in oil changed ever 3k and that kind of stuff.

Alright, so I'm new to this whole loan thing ... Do I take out the $10,000 loan, sell my car, and then pay the whole thing back after the car sale? I have the money to straight up buy it, but I don't want to spend $10,000 all at once. I was thinking take out the loan, sell the car, pay back the difference between the car sale and the loan.

I'm trying to ... For some reason I suck at the whole online car purchase thing, and have lost out on 3 cars in the past 2 months ... Not planning on letting this one go if I have anything to say about it. I believe I was interested in your 2004 GT a long time ago right? Was it the auto?
