Default Terminator RMPs

Just wondering what I need to do to safely increase my redline. I find that when I drive hard, I go through 1st and 2nd way to fast and would like to be able to run to at least 7k before shifting, and I don't mean using my SCT to raise the limiter. TIA,

Rather the beef up your engine internals and whatnot, you could switch out to a lesser gearing if you wanted to, it sounds like you dot have stock gears, but even if you do, they make even lower sets than stock.

Just a thought.

my qustion is why would you want to do that. with the mods you have listed in your sig there is no way you are making power past 6200 rpm. i bet if you look at your power curve your ideal shift point is probaly close to 5900-6000. all you're going to do it work your car harder and burn more fuel to go slower. just an fyi

Well, I guess the reason is that it would be more fun for me to be able to enjoy those gears more than I do now. You know when we had our old 5.0's we could get lighter/ stronger valvle spring retainers, stiffer springs and what not. I just dont like having to shift after about 1 second of driving in 1st, then 3 seconds in 2nd. As to what Italia said, I do have stock gear ratio of 3.55:1, and would actually think of getting a taller gear in there, maybe a 3.27. I didn't think that the crank/pistons would limit my rmps, considering the output these cars can make on a stock block. Thanks for the input, guys...

Its not that the crank/pistons limit your rpms, its that at 9500 rpm they are being pushed to their absolute max limit, and depending on your compression ratio, that will make things go pop quick.

I guess in a way technicially they do, but its just that they cant handle that high pressure/speed. At least not consistently.

Well, when I was getting my car worked on, they were kinda pushing the idea of an ATI centrifugal blwer, but they have more high-end than low-mid like our Eatons. I was thinking if I ever got another blower, it might do to have more useable RPMs, and be more fun in the mean-time.

Don't get a cetri blower... 95% of the people that go centri in the terminators aren't happy with it. If you want to upgrade your blower get it ported, get a whipple or get a Kenne Belle, or even a Turbo setup. There is no centri blower that will make the low end torque the twin screw/roots blower will... This motor is NOTHING like your old 302... The sooner you learn that the better... Almost every 03/04 Cobra owner that is modifying his car goes one of 2 ways... spray + ported eaton, or blower swap (KB, Whipple)...

agreed. If your getting a centri blower you might as well get a turbo. Same thing with no leeching or beating on your engine.
