100 shot vs KB... going crazy.

RE: 100 shot vs KB... going crazy.
i think the 3.4 and the 2.8 go for a very similar price being around 3899 or so, the whipple 3.4 does need a slight hood modification, i thing you have to cut away a portion of the dropped part that runs down the middle of the hood so that the top of the blower does not contact it. honestly though with out a built motor you wan't really use the full potential of that blower. and jared at Lethal performance will be the first to tell you that is the case. I believe he made a post about it on svtp.

Well the KB 2.8 is 4200 but i dont need the BAP or flip chip which saves me 550 bucks from the price of the 4200, so it's a bit cheaper.. 3650 for the blower... or 3200 or so for the 2.6.. thats a good bit of money, lol

This is definitely a tough decision. But IMO, go with the upgraded blower. The Ported blower/Nitrous combo is one hell of a combo, and nothing to take lightly at all. But personally, I'm not a big fan of nitrous and that's the main reason I say go with the upgraded blower. You can never run out of boost. Like said above, you might run into someone and need the nitrous, and the bottle could be low or empty. Thinking about a refill/bottle pressure and all that **** is just too much to worry about IMO.
I have a friend who's installing a nitrous kit on his LS1 right now and he's running into all kinds of problems while doing it. And just the thought of something being installed wrong or failing while he's spraying is scary. You won't have to worry about that stuff just by going with the twin screw. As long as your tune is good and supporting mods are in check, you should be fine.

Is 500rwhp realy that dissapointing?
You have already put money into your blower by porting it and such... why not keep that blower? You might not be quite at 500 but I know you are very close.
Granted... it would be nice to have a 100-200 hp upgrade from just swapping blowers... I would keep the stock blower... but if your convinced on having more power... Then I would stay away from nitrous... I would go with the blower all the way... You can choose between the whipple and the KB because I have no experience with them... I do have experience with freinds cobra's and them spraying them... Neither of the 2 had good turnouts with nitrous. Granted... they were not very conservative... they have melted more then a couple of pistons.

BTW Kaz, I'll be installing my ported blower this weekend. And I told myself If I ever wanted more power, I'd go KBfor sure.... Well, until I saw this thread.

If I do decide I want more power, I highly doubt I'll be getting a KB after reading this. Customer Service goes a loooong way. And I'm not posting this to knock KB or anything like that. Just giving you a little heads up while you still have options available. Customer service means a lot to me, as it should anyone.

as it does to me... well the whole ported blower thing.. I spent 600 on it, got 400 for my stock one, and could get 500 atleast for the sale of it once I sell it... so that takes care of itself...
Like I said im still kinda far away time wise... I would love it if they came out with the eaton they've been talkin about....

lol blown we're just kinda spoiled... I am hoping the weight loss from the straight axle will appease me for a little while, then see what i want to afford... lol

on svtperf they're talking abotu some hybrid eaton that supposedly outflows the Whipples and KBs... I forget what they called it, but there is a HUGE post about it...
