im getting an 03 cobra motor to put into my 2000 gt. im only gettin the motor, and ecu. what else do i need to complete this conversion and how much am i looking to spend. tranny comes with the motor too
yahh man its a lot of work and mabe think of just building your engine and gettin a stroker 5.1L kit with a supercharger? Might be cheaper that way same hp or so and a lottttt less work...
The suspension on the GT is great for track applications. A lot of guy over at SVT Performance are running a solid axle for racing. The IRS is a real pain to bulletproof but can be done. Keep your rear!
I wasn't talking about going to the Cobra suspension... I meant he has to really fortify everything... his stock axle wont do much but break if he doesn't fortify it...

I assumed you were talking about the front suspension. Aren't the 4 valve motors quite a bit heavier? I'm thinking about doing this swap too, but precious little information is to be found on the topic.
BTW, priced out a rear end build with an electronic locker and excluding new gears, came out to a little under $1200.
