i just bought a 96 cobra today and noticed a slight clunking noise every so often in first gear .... anything to be worried about and anyone have similar problems? advice would be awesome on how to solve it

 

sounds like just a little play in the drivetrain, i wouldn't worry about it. mine does it every now and then.

 

is it felt in the foot or in the hand???

 

pretty much the hand but the whole car and you can hear it

 

I have the same problems - something to do with Ford's trannies. Mine does that in first and second until it gets warmed up. Since I got a carbon fiber drive shaft - the problem has greatly diminished! I hardly ever feel/hear it now. It's much smoother shifting.
