Default blew some smoke, need advice

Hey guys,

I started my car up a few minutes ago and i noticed it blew a little bit of smoke. enought that i easily noticed it. this is the first time i've ever seen it do this. i have a 60 day warranty from where i bought it that expires tomorrow.

I had it tuned it with my SCT tuner and had it running a little rich a few weeks ago and advanced the timing a few degrees. coincidently the tuner broke the same day. so i sent it back to SCT, just got it back today and retuned it back to the standard tune. took it for a ride, let it sit about an hour, then i started it and this smoke thing happened.

any ideas if this is all related? I'm going to email the dealership and mention it blew smoke, so i have it on record before the 60 day warranty is up.

btw, the smoke didn't seem blue, more white.

let me know what you guys/gals think.

i doubt its a coincidence that it did this after i tuned it. for the past two weeks its had a slight ping from the advanced timing, which i tried to calm by adding octane booster to the 93 i fill up with. the pinging is totally gone witht the new tune though

either way i'm making an appointment, so its at least on record within 60 days. so if a month from now it gets worse they'll still fix it.

hey i have a 2001 cobra too. and mine did this twice now. mine did it in the morning when i cranked it up sounds like the same thing you are saying. everyone i have took mine too, even the ford place said it was prolly just mositure built up and thats what the smoke was. they said to not worry about it but if it started doing it a lot more and for longer than the first start up then i had a valve seal going out. but mine has not done this in a couple of weeks. i hope yours is fine.

Mine does it every once and awhile too. I heard from someone that a little but of oil sits on the valve seat when the car is shut down and when it starts up it burns that oil off. I've never noticed a drop in oil level or never has ran bad ever so IDK I guess it could be normal?

I love the Pro 5.0, thay advertise that you'll never miss third again, its true. i just put my palm on it in second, push STRAIGHT up and it goes right into third everytime!

The CAI is a good setup, but its a little big. you won't be able to fit a cross brace with it installed.
