Just curious what you guys think of the 96 cobra motor compared to the other years. Thanks

 

96 is a good cobra motor. it was the first modular 4v to be put into a mustang, so in my book, its a good engine...

 

I just did a 96 4v swap into my 97gt. Engine is great. The only diff. between the 96's and the 97 is there is an extra bolt on the intake manifold! The 96, 98 diff. is the IMRC plates are plastic on the 98 compared o metal on 96+97. Plastic is better for heat transfer (insulator) That's it. Ford ran the same 4v until 99, where revisions to the heads and upper intake took place!
