I have experienced during start up a few seconds after it starts the rpm's drop dramaticly and seems like it wants to stall but doesnt its at like 200-400rpms and when i touch the gas pedal it comes right back up to normal and i think its like the idle control module is gone bad or its something else I live in ohio its cold now i already changed the fuel filter a week ago its a 98 cobra with 38K and its all stock so if anyone might have an idea and there are no codes or check engine lights either

 

did u run it for "pending" codes?and yes, it does sound like the idle controls sensor. are we talking about a pretty much stock vehicle here?

 

Mine sounds familar but it's occassionally and it would start erratically fora few seconds then be revving really low but if I give it a little gas it's fine. Since it needs a tune-up and I want to give ita fresh start I'm replacing the spark plugs and fuel filter soon anyway so I'm hoping that would go away

 

Yeah my car is completly stock besides a drop in K&N filter is all and when i start is and it does that i just barely touch the gas then it comes right back up then stays like normal it only happens sometimes not everytime im at a light idling just when i start up the car... Thankx its a 98 SVT cobra with 38K
