Default JLT

Just got my JLT True CAI in today and I am completley pissed off I spent $230 for a kit that didn't even help out my car. Not to mention they didn't even include bolts to bolt your MAF to their MAF adapter. I say save the money on CAI's, apparently our stock CAI's aren't as restrictive as I thought...

Don't get 2vs and 4vs confused. A CAI is a worthwhile mod on a 4v. On a 2v, a K&N filter is plenty unless you've already upgraded your intake and heads to need the air.

I understand your frustration though. I had to drill a hole in my JLT RAI when I put it on my GT and I managed to not have anything that could cut a hole that size and ended up spending a while dremeling it out and sanding it into shape. [:@]

Yeah dude I don't see what they hype was about the JLT. I mean come on, if you pay $230 for an intake you should expect EVERY SINGLE peice there is to put that thing in smoothing. You shouldn't be running up to the hardware store for bolts for your MAF adapter. Plus it was a PAIN IN THE *** to install. The rubber tubing that connects the throttle body to the piping and the piping to the MAF has to be positioned PERFECTLY or else nothing will line up. **** I even have mine positioned perfectly (took 3 times pulling it in and out) and it was still a bitch getting it to line up to the throttle body because the piping is so big.... Oh come on now. I CAI is still one of the easiest things you can do on your car. Think of it as a primer to working on your car.

no, cold air kits are not good. Keep ur stock intake with the stock intake box, and the stock intake paper filter. When u go from stock to CAI u gain about 8 rwhp peak, but when u switch it back to stock, u gain an additional 5 peak rwhp!

it depends on what you have done to the car... NA on 4 valve with mods its not a bad idea, but throw in cams and superchargers and its a very good idea. Big piping is good. The stock stuff does become restrictive, especially if you have some forced induction in there. I have the JLT piece and have been happy with it, didnt have any install issues.

I'm good with the intake silencer out and while I was at it changed the air filter to K&N. Sound was actually nicer than expected and can feel a difference too.
