Default pulley swap procedure

Looking to upgrade my pulley on my 04 Cobra, stock supercharger. I heard of two different ways, one you need to pull the snout offthe superchangerthen replace the pulleyand the other is you don't need to pull the snout off to replace the pulley, just use a puller. I have heard that if you don't pull the snout off you run the risk of damaging the shaft or bearing. Does anyone have the correct procedure on doing that?

you just need the right puller to pull it ogg straght and even. even if you take the snout off the blower which is a pita you sitt would not be able to get the pulley off the shaft. get a Billet flow pulley removal tool nd yu awill be good to go. takes labout an hour or so.

Everyone uses a puller with the snout on the car...

I used a Pulley boys puller... The snout pulley can be done in 10 minutes. If you are doing idlers it could take around an hour or two.

10 minutes is streching it, when i did mine it took a bit of time to wrench the bolt far enough to break the pulley loose, could have been the difference in puller tools though.

I would be happy to make you a puller if you're interested! Along with pulleys, I've made pullers for Grand Prix GTP's and Cobalt SS's for over 3 years. Granted the puller style for the Cobra will be a little different, but I'd be happy to make one for you if you're interested.

Thanks,
Nate
