Sorry, my last post wasn't helpful, it was late.

Yes, I consider a CAI to be useful on 4V engines. 2Vs (GTs) no, but 4Vs (Cobras) yes. Most people will recommend the JLTs. I have one on both of my Mustangs and they are a quality product. Stay away from metal pipes because they will heat up in the engine compartment and in turn warm the air coming in, negating the whole effect of a CAI.

Actually, looking at your mods, with your free flowing exhaust and I see you're working on heads and cams, a CAI would be a very smart thing for you. I don't know much about your year of Cobra, but I'd expect a TB to match would be helpful as well. The 4Vs already like a lot of air, once you get the heads worked they'll be wanting every little bit they can get.

Honestly, nothing is really worth the money/hp ratio! Everything is expensive as crap and you get a 2-5hp gain from it.
That would not stop me from getting one, and I did get one. You got to pay to play.

On my year not much is available, I got the K&N, and it sounds good. I am not even gonna lie about a butt dyno feel.
It is just part of the puzzle to open up the breathing of the motor. Once you get those heads and cams though adding a CAI will only help that much more.

Go for it.

http://www.jlttruecoldair.com/

And it looks like they have a sale there right now, so it's cheaper there than places like AmericanMuscle.
