Yea but he won't have the 4.10s, which are a big help. And uberstang, his 96gt was just barley out of the 12s but he gets good launches all the time and is one of the better drivers I know. He says that the cobra feels only a little faster than the 96 did stock. I love the car, it is awsome, could defineatly use a little more umph dow low(gears) but on the highway the car is an absolute animal. He still says it feels slow,I guess we'll find out friday.Anybody else have any comments on the flywheel question?

what is done to the 96 gt, those are fast times for a non-pI 2v, because a stock 97 cobra to a stock 96 gt feels no where close

His 96 had ported ARF 185s, pretty wicked cams, a ported intake to match the heads, gears, full exhaust, and I'm positive he did the ignition and fuel upgrades to handle all that extra combustion. The car was pretty sick, he just sold it for 7500 to some kid who wanted to get into drag racing. His father said that on the first pass down the track he put it into the wall hard and ****ed the whole engine and front end up.
Come to think of it, I don't think they were the AFRs, I'm not really sure what heads he had.

I took my bone stock 98 with 102,000 miles and bald street tires to a 2.0 60' 13.7@102. I've got the slip to prove it

Cool, we are going tommorrow night and he still thinks even if drieves the ***** off the car he will be stranded in the mid 14s. I'm gunna bet that he hits at least high 13s. He has been practicing his launches in a parking lot and they look really good, almost better than the launches he used to get with the 96.

Stock I ran a 13.79 @102 in mine, set of Nitto Dr's and knocked it to a 13.43, with 4.30's got it down to a 13.19. For the last time the car also had pullies, an O/R X pipe, Flowmasters, AFM PowerPipe and Mass Air. Should run high 12's on motor easily with a little bit of suspension...on a 150 shot this summer I made 2 passes w/a bad 4th gear ran 12.2 @ 118. Will post more times after I have the suspension on....going with Wolfe Racecraft rear suspension kit, QA1 Adjustable rears.
