I have seen countless post or ads stating that a 03 or 04 svt cobra has 390 hp, but people tell me this is not true, do they have more?
Was this done for insurance purposes? I know in the musclecar era they used to fudge these numbers.

 

they dyno 360-380 stock, crank rating should be at least 420-430. people say it was done for insurance reasons but i could not tell ya.

 

I don't believe it was for insurance purposes. More or so because the previous years Cobra's were getting spanked by the T/A's. Ford wanted to down play the HP rating incase GM decided to step up and try to compete which would have only got them 2nd place! It was all about being sneaky. You really think for cares about how much you must oay for insurance??? I don't think so!
