96 cobra drivetrain pop...need help
Hey guys. There is a popping sound coming from my drivetrain somewhere. It only does it when I fully depress the clutch pedal in reverse and start to go backwards, when i drive in 1st gear up to around 3K+ rpm and let of the gas, and after i let out in 2nd around the same rpms while staying in gear. The car still feels tight but i would really like to know where this annoying pop/clank is coming from. could it be bushings somewhere? Thanks in advance.

is it coming from around where the tranny mounts? I have the same problem except it goes away after reverse usually .. never hear it in 2nd. it's happened ever since I bought the car. I just ignore it.[/align]

I cant tell where exactly its coming from. It only happens while the car is in motion, so its kinda difficult for me to look under and pinpoint it. Mine only pops once when it does. It never does when i accelerate, not even under heavy load. Only when it "torques down" i guess you would say.

I never got under there either, I can just hear it from around the tranny. And it's the same way you described it, only in reverse, only when I'm like manuevering to get out of a parking spot, etc etc. I can be going 140 and not hear a sound but when I'm doing simple things like that, it goes pop.
