Default cobra swap?

Hey guys, I gotta 99 gt and im doin a cobra swapbut i wanted your opinions. Would it make more sense to get a 99-02 motor and do a nice port job on the heads with basic bolt on's, or an 03 motor with pretty much the same basic bolt on's? I can't decide and i know i can get a lot of power with both setups i think it would be cheaper for a 99-01 if i can get one from a junkyard! lemme kno wat you think, thanks. Brandon

I would get a 99-01 motor and harness/computer. Your better off for $$$$ and security that it actually runs. A mild port and stage 2 cams with intake cleaning will yield you some real nice numbers! Also, you can prob get a 99-01 motor and buy a s/c'er for less than the 03 set-up

+1 for that. The SC'ed cobra motors are pretty pricey and if u found one for cheap I wouldn't trust it to work too well. your best bet would be to find a 96-99 cobra motor. the teksid blocks are a very good block.

sell your car and just buy a 99 cobra, way easier and cheaper in the long run.
