also, how durable are the mach motors and trannys? especially with power adders? how much can you get out of a n/a motor?
the mach look better by far, but the t-56 in the cobra is much better at power handling.
motor on mach is good to 450rwhp (give or take depending on your tuner)
the tranny can handle ~500rwhp i would push it to much over 460-470rwtq

N/A you could probably get 450-460rwhp, but your talk with close to 15-20k worth of work.

Look on craigslist (san diego cl "mustang cobra" there was 2 on there the other day for $25k with 8k miles) for a cobra they are all over out here in san diego you will pay less than getting it from a dealer. just ship the car to you , The last car I shipped from atlanta GA to Sd ,ca enclosed was $1100. I will go look at them and take detailed pictures if anyone is into it!

a guy named naz on svtperformance.com (99 cobra)has the n/a 4vrecord (stock motor) at 410rwhp. he then made 457rwhp n/a (but with a larger bore, i believe)

alright so if i were to get the mach, then intake exhaust and a tune would get me to about 350-400 rwhp?... ive heard of people gettin close to 500 hp out of the 03/04cobraswith a good tune and a pulley with another wise stock engine is this possible? and why would it be for the cobra and not the mach? besides the cobra having the s/c

no, an intake exhaust and tune will net you about 300rwhp. keep in mind the mach isnt supercharged.

I have a 03 cobra headers, exhaust, intake, 2.80 pully on the s/c and a bbk throttle body, 456 rwhp. The rest of the car doesnt support this much power!. In other words you can use this power like you should because of things like suspension, brakes etc.. but for $5k or so you can build it!
This is why you find roush and saleens with 425hp. And putting the money into brakes etc...

A 03/04 cobra is really fast with the little things that have been done to mine. THE BIGGEST BANG FOR THE BUCK! is the 03/04 cobra the bottom end of the motor is built really well( manley rods? cast iron block? forged crank? might need some help here?) + IRS+6speed that is worth way more than $4k

just a ?:

Have you ever driving a car that makes that much power? I never have until I bought the 03, my 428scj dynoed at 400rwhp and 550 ft/lbs.
Remember most cars HP rating is from the flywheel.
Add around 18% to the 456rwhp whats that around 560 hp at the flywheel

not quite that much power lol i had an 03 stang about 230 to the wheels, the mach is rated at 320 ive heard to the flywheel, putting a full exhaust with an intake and a tune would only give me 300 rwhp?

Drivetrain loss is a bitch. Something like 14% loss from the crank to the wheels.
