Default Car fell flat under throttle; question

Posted this in the Saleen subsection......but wondering if some of the boosted folks over here might be able to provide some insight.

Took the video camera out this afternoon to capture some sound clips.Got some good sound clips, but I also picked up on something else I wasn't expecting.

Both runs are babying 1st gear and winding it up some in second, third, etc... Pardon the shaking.....I was holding the camera and steering with my laft hand [&:].

The first clip is a Normal Acceleration run[8D].

This second clip is where I need help, as the car falls Flat on its Face[:'(]when I shift to third under decent throttle (cuts out pretty bad).

More insight to the scenario:
1. The gas is probably at least a month and a half old since I haven't driven it much lately (i.e. last time I put gas in it)
2. The setting on my 4-bank chip was on the "Hot Tune"
3. Temp outside.....about 50 degrees
4. Check engine light didn't come on
5. 1st time this has ever happened

I'm thinking the gas, combined with the aggressive tune setting caused it to "choke"......any other thoughts?

Yea im not really sure but old gas may be your issue. Fill her up with a new tank of 94 octaneand see if your car still cuts out.
BTW your saleen looks and sounds badass.

month old gas is nothing over a year and a half may be

i think your problem is you pprv in the tank , it does it all the time under hard acel.when you shift?
or does it do it every now and then?

go to svt performance do a search on pprv they got lots of info there.

whats all done to the car? i had the some prob. youre having . i wished the video ran longer, whan it started to act up, the video ended?

my problem was the bap. without the wire up grade. but i got gt pumps and stuff now. its smooth.

Thanks for the heads up Redeye. Coming down the hill (before I started recording) it cut out just a little bit in third gear under decent acceleration. Then going up the hill, as you heard...I'm in third cranking up the boost....and it just cuts out. Those are the only two times it's ever done anything like that. After I let off the gas a little bit.....it runstotally normal. Both times, it was solidly in gear.

Regarding modifications.....just everything that is in my signiture. Supercharger is a 2.3 L Series V (twin-screw).

Go to a Forddealership and grab one of the techs to come out for a drive with you. They will hook up a laptop to the car and record what happens when it cuts out. I had the same problem, it turned out my fuel pump was dying. Worked perfectly until I warmed it up and pushed it then it would start cutting out. Accelerate nicely afterwards and no problem.

Well some people might say it's your PPRV, but I had that exact problem but with 1-2 shift, and 2-3 shift. I would get on it, slam it into gear and the car just felt like i slammed on brakes. So, I asked on SVTP and they said it might be my Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor. Not an expensive fix, but an annoying one. To check for sure, take off your vacuum line and smell, or look, for gas. And if it is that, it will REEK of gas, not just barely. Hope this helps man.

Thanks for the input guys.....I'll look into it. The more I think about it.....no fuel, as you are alluding to,makes more sense than "old" fuelregardingthe way it just cut out.
