Why are you going with the 330 gears and not something a little more steep?
Probably because of the turbo power instead of S/C. Turbo's work off of load where S/Cs work off of RPM. I was going to ask him the same question. My 4.10's are way too much for my turbo and don't put a load on the motor like a shorter gear.
Hopefully he sees this and answers. I was talking to my shop about the 4.10 vs 3.55/3/73 and they and everyone else I asked who new anything about turbos seemed to point towards the 3.55s because of the turbo.
i am doing 3.25's for a coouple reasons. first off for the track i want to be able to be doing at least 145-150 mph at the top of 4the and with a taller gear i would be having to shift into 5th which is an overdrive gear before the traps. 2nd having longer gears will give me more time in the power band. i should be spooled by 3700 rpm's or so based on other expierince. with the longer gears i will have more time at full boost than with a taller set up. Most 6sp turbo guys run about a 3.27 gear ratio fyi. because i is not belt driventhe rpm of the motor really does not matter. likeone guy said before it is based on the load more than anything. not to mention is should hook better form a dig.
