Biggest tire w/o rubbing
Hey guys, I need new rear tires. I'm currently running stock 275's and was thinking of going bigger... Whats the biggest tire size that these stock rims can handle without rubbing. I've heard that these IRS's don't have the same clearances as the solid axles... I'm looking to get the tires this weekend. Anybody have any ideas?

RE: Biggest tire w/o rubbing
well when i had my irs i had 03 cobra rims 17x10.5s the 315 nittos it clear the irs bolt when car was loaded, but unloaded on rack it did come into contact the the top bolt ,but not by much.
i got a sra now, im taking my 315s nit's off cause they no good with 600 plus hp. i got some 335/35/17 hoosiers dr's coming friday! i might need a spacer on those rims with those tires< it pretty close to my tail pipes now. cause of rear is i bit narrower. if all clears and get tires on time , i can go to the track friday night

[&o]update the 335s are massive tires, i just got them in and got to send them back, when i seened them i was like there to darn big.
from bead to bead is 12.5 over is 14.25 inches wide, im not even going to try to mount then on a 10.5 rim,
they are just too darn wide. thinking of getting the 315 hoos now.or just got the spec 3 plus clutch set up instead,26 sp. input shaft etc., and keep the 315 nittos i got now, to see what i 60 ft at?

these tires are huge!
nittos 315s dont have the rim saver feature on them ,so my 315 nit's on my 10.5 rims look as if it's sucking in, or not wide. i had some bfgr g force tires before the 315s and they where about 1.5 inches wider then my 315 nittos ? which looked great. so if the 315 hoo's should be the same as the 315 g forces ?

RE: Biggest tire w/o rubbing
you shouldn't ever have any trouble with tire rubing if you are using your stock rims! The rims just cannot get a wide enough tire on them to rub. 275 is the proper size for your wheels. A 295 is pushing it and 315 is just out of the question as you will have nothing but problems. Tires won't wear right, handling will be horrible and you will prob rub since they ballon outwards so much. Don't listen when people say get 295 nitto's as they are the same size as your 275's now if not smaller. The owner of Nitto must like inflating everything including his dick....lol
