Default GT GUY WITH A COBRA QUESTION

hey guys i am trying to purchase a 2001 cobra, and i have currently a bolt on gt which i am trading in if i get it, my question is i dont really want to start really modding again, but i was wondering if i got a tune, would it give me significant gains? the cobra has plenty of hp for me, but i am wondering what would be a fairly cheap mod with good benifits. it has a stock midpipe and i cant do o/r but i might buy a catted x, just new to the 4v world, wondering what you reccomend

Mid pipe, cat-back and tune will get you a nice sound, and a nice little performance boost. Not huge, but noticeable.

I went from stock to CAI, and a tune and that made a big difference. they key was putting in some NGK TR6 plugs and advancing the timing all the way with the handheld. With new stock motorcraft plugs it pinged with the standard SCT tune, ia actually had to back it off 2 degrees. but with the TR6 i was able to advance it 2 degrees more with no pinging.

Honestly.. the best thing is the gears.. the Cobras came with 3.27's... throw some 4.10's, intake/exhaust/short shifter and you'll have a VERYnice machine...

^what he said, but gears can get pricey if you have someone else (who knows what they're doing) do it for you.

it pretty much is just mods are more expensive and get more gains in some instances...
