Default clutch cable

i have a 96 cobra. i have to replace the clutch cable at least once a year. i figured i might have it adjusted too tight but i have even put the stock self adjusting quadrant back in, it has actually helped some but they are still breaking. any suggestions? i was also wondering about a hydraulic clutch system, if possible? are hydraulic systems slower than a cable?

once a year? You must b buying crap cables, because I have the origional one on my car and it has 76kmi on it. Sounds like you have a diff problem and is causing your cable to break. Possibly bad adjustment causing you to over extend your cable and/or a bent clutch fork which has happened before.

could be crappy cables but it also broke the stock one a few years back. my car has 160K miles, tremec 3550, lakewood bellhousing, stock fork, fordracing clutch, but the cable is breaking under the dash always within an inch or two of where it hooks into the quadrant

Are there any sharp things under the dash that could be slowly wearing away the cable?

I've heard that there's A LOT of problems with aftermarket clutch cables. I've read off of the SVTPerformance forums that the OEM one is the way to go.
