2001 Cobra Power Limits??
So I was just wondering, what power limits can the 01 cobra engine handle. What type of N20 shot can I run safely. Everything is stock, other than the mods listed in my sig.
Also what do I need to change out before I can do higher HP applications?

i wouldnt run more than a one hudred wet shot on a stock 2001 cobra... the engine has potential to run a 150 shot, with a tune (to retard timing), butthe real weakness is the upper intake manifold... it is weak and i have already seen several of the cobras in the shop, blow them up with a 125 shot....

Most people say that the motor limit is around 450rwhp... but i have a guy in a club im in that has a KB Cobra running upwards of 470-480rwhp for a couple years now I believe... he's been waiting for the motor/tranny to give and it hasn't... Good tunes FTW!

. I will def run a 100 shot soon, and then build off that. Good to know these engines can take some abuse.

Just make sure if you approach those power levels you have a VERY GOOD TUNE, and a creditline or another car just in case..
We all know how tempermental these cars are...

Last timeI was there, they had a Shelby GT 500, a 1997 SVT, and a 1990's Cobra on lifts. They also had a 2004 SVT in the show room. Ive never seen so many gens of cobra's in one place. It was cool as hell.
On a sidenote, I will tell ya it is a HELL of a lot easier running a N20 setup on this car than my previous car. I traded an 06Cobalt SS/SC for mySVT. What a difference in terms of strength and aftermarket. If you tried running a 100 shot in theSS/SC, bye bye pistons! Piston #4 went all the time in those cars because it was the last to recieve fuel, and leaned out.
You could actually need: clutch, transmission, fuel system, rear end, and suspension in addition to "piston and rod swaps"...
All of those parts weren't installed on your car for high hp applications. The only thing you might get away with is the fuel system (not sure what you have).. The tranny is a lot like your motor... some people blow stock cars, and others beat the **** out of it and it still goes.. but there are a lot of things that go into it.. yeah - for the motor not to blow all you need are pistons and rods.. but you need to get fuel to the motor, the car to go into gear and you also need the ability to xfer the power from the motor to the rear wheel....
Plus the tune.
