Default 1998 cobra noise?

picked up a 98 cobra 54k miles when you start in in the morning it make alot of noise almost like the transmission is f ed up, when you put it in gear still there, when it warms up its gone, the guy i bought it from said it was an exhaust leak, Its not the head tick , it goes away, car has good power just what I though going from the 03 svt, so it feels great

total stock exhaust

well I got to say its a rod! After talking to a few engine builders that work on these all the time and having a couple of them put their ears on it (Jba I am in san diego and ford) It is a rod knock, the crappy part is I bought it 2 days ago the car was driven to my work by the seller( warmed up), he seems like a really nice guy and truely had no idea that it had this problem when the car is warm only a trained ear can hear it. I spoke to the seller and he seems like he will work something out with me the car is in great shape I mean it is a 9.9 out of 10 it is totally stock the rare blue color with black leather I paid 9700 for it
It will take $6400 to fix the motor that will give me a 100k/ 3 year warranty I know what I think is fair what about you guys? I also told him he can give me my $$ back and deal with it him self. I will add that I signed nothing stating the sale was as is.

I'd get the money back before it's too late. Still, I can't imagine a build costing 6400. Seems a little steep. I'd shop around if you do plan tokeep her.

1600 r and r 4600 motor from ford 100k mile warranty or 3 years transfers too cost on the motor is 3500ish little room to move. this car is really nice it is miles above any other cobra I have looked at for 98. Its is Bright Atlantic Blue with leather really nice car every where I take it I get thumbs up . Got $1500 buck back from dude nada high is $11950 low $9700 paid $8200 could sell easy, bought the car for a DD will be nice to have a new engine drive it for 2 year dump it.
I have the best cobra, the 03, its a great car miles above this one but just want something nice to drive and not worry about it. It looks every bit as good as the 03 ,like I said it is a really nice looking car. All other cars are in a garage covered.
