Default 03 cobra engine problems - any ideas?

Hey guys. I got an 03 termi with some trouble. I was getting in my cobra the other day and noticed antifreeze leaking on the parking lot. Looked like it was coming from the heater core (passenger side with a few drops inside the car too). I couldn't go very far before it started heating up (I kept a close eye on the temp gauge). I had to stop and let it cool down a few times before I could make it to the shop to be fixed. The weird thing is that although it leaked all that antifreeze, the reservoir stayed full. After a week of working on it that included changing the heater core, new thermostat, pressure testing the cooling system for leaks, checking radiator flow and checking the water pump and lines, and the fan is working but it stillruns hot! Not only does it run hot now, at around 3000 rpms, my cobra starts jerking and loosing power! Not cool at all. Basically they didn't know what else to check so I had to take it to Ford today to get it looked at. Any ideas anyone?

ok. You have to perge the coolent system whenever you let any of the coolent. The is a quarter inch drive bolt on the drivers side of the supercharger, its black and capping off a steel black line about an inch around. That bolt is the highest point in your cooling system, not your coolent tank. Most of the time there are large air pockets that can run through the system causing your car to overheat. As for the power loss, its just your computer knowing that you are running hot and retardes the timing and cuts the boost. Things to check are; that bolt, your thermostat (they can be bad get a 180 degree one), coolent level, and make sure your fans are on. Thats about it. Good luck

+1.. and when you burp the system (what above is describing) sometimes you have to do it multiple times on these cars... they're pains in the ***.

Also everytime you overheat you have to burp it. When the coolent boils that little pocket gets filled up with air.
