Default 03 Cobra question

So I purchased an '03 Cobra a while back, then I didn't get to see her till I came back home from school. Anyway, I'll be working all summer to get some money and I want some feedback about what will yield max. gains. Any advice you guys have would be much appreciated...btw I'm on about a 2,000$ budget
Thanks

Might want to try posting this in the SVT section under 4.6 Mustangs. They could give you some good advice....

What are you trying to do? Build horsepower, or build a fast car?

Some good starter mods include: Pulley, intake, exhaust (midpipe/catback), tune, short shifter, cooling mods, and a set of nitto d/r

EDIT: almost forgot the IRS brace

I'm looking to build horsepower, but keep the car as streetable as possible. I was considering a pulley swap, but I'm pretty naive in that regard. Do you have a preference when it comes to pulley sizes, as well as a tune that will warrant significant gains?

Most people say 2.76 or 2.81.. I had a 2.81 and liked it because i never had any belt slip.. and most people need idlers for the 2.76...

You could also do a upper and lower combo of like a 2.93 + 4# lower... the higher upper won't give you as much hp, but the lower will give you more and a better torque curve.

He's giving you good advice. The best bang for the buck would be atleast an upper pulley/tune combo, cold air kit and cat back.

I don't think you can beat the results from those and should be able to stay under your 2000 mark or right at it. I would also suggest the IRS brace. You can grenade your stock girdle if you don't have one.

Try www.billetflow.com for the info on pulleys and IRS brace. In my opinion they're one of, if not the best out there.

listen to kazp3r. he knows what he's talking about.
Intake, exhaust, pulley, heat exchanger and tune would be around your price range and you will see a very nice power increase.

My redfire went bye bye... I think the motor was taking a dump - it just wasn't right... and I needed to replace somethings on it.. didn't wanna spend the money...

I sold it, bought a fusion, then bought my Mach 1... the mach is basically stock until gas prices come back to earth, lol... can't install the 4.30 gears and get even crappier gas milage, haha...

built suspension, 4.30s, tires, intake, exhaust = 12's in the mach 1... once i get another car, we'll build something better
