Default Common Problems on High Mileage Cobras

Hey everybody, I'm new to this site and this is my first post, but I'll get to the point. I'm thinking about cheapin out and buying a cobra with around 80k on it. I was just wondering what are the weakest links on these cars and which parts I would likely need to replace first.

That's a wide open question. It all depends on how it was taken care of! A newer one with that mileage would mean an everyday driver and actually those are less beat on than the sunday or few times a week driver. I wouldn't buy a 96-98 80kmi but that;s just my .02

Well i was thinking a 99-02,or 03-04 if I can find one cheap enough...And i was thinking of spending 10-15k...I dont know how it would have been taken care of though since I would be the one buying it.

The only response I have to this thread is...

If you "cheap out" now, you will get it in the end... Spend money now, or spend more later - take your pick.

If you, by some odd chance found an 03-04 for $10-15k, I wouldnt touch it. I've got 80k on my 01, 50k I put on myself taking care of her and havent had any problems other than the normal little things like COPs andplugs. Good luck though
