I dunno on another forum a guy said that the cam may not spin as its suppose to and the crank might still spin so the pistons can move up while the cam is closed and a valve may still be down....I'll check it out though.

if the chain breaks being that our vehicles are over head cam, yes it is more than possible, if this has happened you need to fix it ASAP or bad things will come very shortly.

I had a '72 Vegawith an overhead cam with a belt. It slipped a couple teeth one day after school and designednot hit the valves (less than fantastic compression ratio, as you may have guessed [&:]). I have little doubt that the pistons will hit on a Cobra. This is one of the reasons it has a chain instead of a belt. Risk is low, but damage would be high.
