Default Blown/Supercharged Life expectancy...

ok i was gonna go N/A but now i'm not too sure, im pretty sure this car is gonna be a once a week/ every two weeker for fun on the weekends and whatnot. However, i know nothing about "power adders" as i have no experience with them

i own a 96 cobra and im going to rebuild it from the block up, and i was wondering what kind of life expectancy i can expect, probably going with forged rods, pistons etc, with a turbo, ive heard single turbo Cobras have problem with compression on the 1 or 8 cylinder, not sure how true that is, or a supercharger... as of rightnow i have no ideawhat kind of charger thats where you guys come in. suggestions? how long will it last? ideas on internals?

also, my neighbor hes a bit of an idiot but, said ford tunes cobras wrong from the factory? you get more power out of one of your cams than the other? idk hes not too bright but he could be right.

If it's a weekend driver than you shouldn't ever have to woory about it dying on you. There are many people out there that have over 50kmi on supercharged applications running more than 10lbs of boost. Obviously if you get into 25psi than you've got to worry about reliability for longterm on a dd, but not for a weekend cruiser. $40k is a bit much and can be done for far less. Ford Racing sells an Aluminator engine that is all aluminum complete long block with 03/04 Cobra heads and internals. It's the exact 03/04 cobra motor with an aluminum block with the exception that it comes with powdercoated Blue valve covers. It retails for $6295. That's a great deal! Get yourself a Kennebell 2.6 for $3400 and that comes with the lower intake that you will need for the longblock. You've got yourself a complete engine. A very nice tranny TKO600 will run you $2k with bellhousing or you can just get a rebuilt T56 with upgraded internals that were factory wqeak strucken for $1200 plus all the other components needed. That's roughly $12k if you can install it all yourself. Ofcourse you have to accomodate for extra items, roughly $500-1000 depending on your taste needs....lol
This set-up can crank out a very streetable and reliable 600rwhp all day long!
