Navigator block FTW.... Ported Navigator heads and some aftermarket cams, forged internals, and your set... Not even TOO expensive of a set up, BUT, trust me, itsa VERY TIGHT fit, and involves some fabbing, especially if you are looking to keep ALL of your accessories, including AC, but it can be done...
Not the kind of thing I would try by MYSELF THOUGH... I have personally witnessed several swaps like this, first hand, and its not all fun and games...

On a modded 96 4.6 would anyone recommend a stroker kit? I figured I would throw this out there while everyone is talking strokers. WOuld it make much a difference to stroke it and go with forged pistons and rods if I want to keep it n/a?

I have a 5.4L navigator engine if you're really serious about doing the swap... A complete engine, from oil pan to the throttle body...
And yes, adding displacement to your engine will always add decent power, more than any bolt on, short of forced induction and nitrous...

how much for the engine? yes im serious about doing the swap but am in between jobs. but i,ll definitely like to get it of your hands in the near future.

Oh you are going to have soooo much fun with that swap. I hope to god you have access to a lift. My buddy and I swapped a 5.4 excursion engine into a crown victoria which has a bigger engine bay than a mustang and it was the biggest b**** in the world took so long to get everything to fit. We did that about a month ago, to this day he still doesn't have his powersteering all the way connected and it leaks all over the place. Ah so much fun.
