Yea, pretty much haha. Is there a difference in performance between the stock intake tube vs a aftermarket intake tube?

Yes, there is a difference for that.

I would get an aftermarket intake, but like i said i wouldn't spend much on it.. check out some used ones on ebay or svtperformance... then just get a cleaner kit... the cheapest way out

Yea I think I'm going to go with the new model steeda intake with the open ended filter design. Do I need a tune with this like I did on my 07 gt? I don't plan on getting a dyno tune untill I change my pullies which won't be for awhile. I was told you need a tune becuase your changing the position of the MAF from 10 o clock to 12 & by doing this you can risk your car going to lean/rich? any truth to that?

I dont know how much truth there is to it... but, anytime I changed the air or fuel on my Cobra i would get it dyno'ed to verify the A/F... are you planning on getting the pulley/tune sooner then later? If you are, i'd just buy it when you found a deal, and hold onto it until then.

These motors are funny, some people dont have any issues and some blow up motors... anytime on a motor thats gotta blower on it you have to be real careful with the air/fuel

I don't plan on getting my pulleys until next summer, so next year sometime. Do you think a mail order tune from like amazon would be ok to run with the intake? Because I already have a SCT x3, So all I would need to do is just get the mail order tune. But I also know people that run the K&N intake with out a tune and have no problems.

it's not good to run rich, but i'd rather run rich than lean.

that being said, i agree with kazper get the intake and wait to install after you do a pulley swap along with a dyno tune.

I would not go with a mail order tune.

What's stopping you from doing the pulley now? Money??

I mean you already have the tuner.. most places charge a 1-200 for a tune... the pulley is 80 bucks.. why not just wait and do it all at once?

Like I said, there are people that run new intakes without issues... but anytime you're adding more air to the car your going to run leaner then before... the motors are very fickle when it comes to this... some people run fine, some have blown their motor... Feel free to roll the dice, and you can even take it to a dyno after install and check the A/F... but, I think it's a wiser option to do it at once... costs less money, lol..
