JLT true cold air, i was pretty sure it was the only one you could get that did anything positive at all.

and chrome gets heat soaked.

Honestly, it really doesn't matter. You're only going to see 1-3rwhp difference between them more times then not...

I would go with whatever is the best cheapest option. I would also recommend against a fenderwall intake if you're in an area of a lot of rain. Most people say that it's harmless, but i've seen a motor get hydrolocked with one... and I do believe there have also been a couple of other members here that have as well.

I had a used Steeda one on mine and it worked fine. I wouldnt spend a ton of money on one.. I got mine off of Ebay for 60 bucks ran a cleaner through it and it was perfect.

Is there any difference in the C&L intake and the JLT true ram air intake? I do live in chicago and it is my DD except in snow, so I dont want the filter to get wet.

exactly the gains are minimal at best if you even see any so dont go spending like $500 on one, you can run a fender one just make sure its high enough in the fender water wont splash on it the ones that get wet the most are the ones that run in the lower bumper, and it could do more then just a hydro lock, if enough water gets into it

in order to be over 550rwhp.. you're going to need a twin screw or nitrous.. or a stage 5 ported blower with every bolt on including cams and headers...

but i've never heard on an intake being good only from 550-600 rwhp..
