The 17"x10.5" wheel will have an issue with the IRS bolt, depending on off-set/back-space. An 18" wheel clears this bolt, based on those who have posted here. Personally, I recommend an 18" wheel anyway as you will have a wider selection of tires in which to choose.

You may need to install replacement bolt, or some have ground it down.... I would replace bolt

yes how ever 18" wheels means less tire profile before rubbing and if your looking to run Dr's im assuming u want a good tire profile for the track unless your auto-x ing

i had the same problem, when i purchased tires, i was planning on getting 295/35/17

but as i am dropped about 1.75-2", i went with 285/40/17, which barely cleared.

you can change the bolt, but from my research, most people don't recommend it.

you can also grind it as mentioned above.

here's 2 pics for reference:

Thanks for the detailed pics & info....AM sales the bolts for $14....so, I'll just buy them f I need them....

I want to stick with 17" wheels....18" tires way too much $$$$

I am not in love with the grinding of bolt or even shorter bolt for that matter. After thinking about it more and seeing the pic, I think you are "messin' where you audn't a be messin" and create some liabilty issues with suspension strength as well. I know MANY have done this and been just fine, but griding is just too subjective.

The off-set/back-space is in play here, so maybe not even needed at all. Here are some options if rubbing is happening. One could possibly install 1/4" spacers as this would move the wheel outward away from bolt. Even better is to replace lug-bolts and install a wider spacer (1/2", as I have done) and put that wheel out to the edge (but not beyond) fender. This will give it a wider stance as well as fill up that well

I would ask what is the off-set/back-space of 562Cobras wheels and do the math as to how yours would fit prior to purchase.

I'm NOT going to grind my bolt...AM has bolts that appear to use Allen Head tool...I would think that would be fine or a better solution.

^ Agreed

I still think it you should test fit the wheels first and install the replacement bolts ONLY if you need to do so. I would like to see the grade of original bolt VS. the grade of replacement as they don't have the un-threaded portion that I am sure the stock one has. This is the area in which the suspension actually travels over and threads in this area are weak link in the replacement design.

Good point on the grade of the bolt...it looks to be at least a 1/2" dia. bolt though!
