Unhappy T56 Trouble Shifting - Synchros?

so im having trouble shifting in my cobra. it squeeks between shifts, and now it has a hard time getting into certain gears. 1st is fine, 2nd and 3rd give some trouble. 4th, 5th and 6th arent awful, but not great. and reverse is next to impossible to get into. my dad drove it, and says he once drove a truck for his company where the synchro gears were the problem. and it feels like the same situation to him. anybody hear about the synchros going on a t56? did i cause this? any input is appreciated!

if its squeeks between shifts thats the through out bearing, does it grind going into gears are just wont go into gear? put it in 5th or 6th doing about 30-40mph and floor it, if the tack jumps up without your speed your clutch is going out

Mine just needed the clutch adjusted. I was having the same problems. Here's an svtp link that if you do, your problem will most likely be fixed. I followed the same procedures and my problem was fixed, all i need now is a tranny fluid change

Make sure you read through the entire thread.

and make sure you bend the metal plate that gets mentioned. (as soon as you read it you'll know what i'm talking about)

The Quadrant in these cars are horrible... mine had gotten so bad, I was running high 12's because I just couldn't shift in a 500rwhp Cobra w/traction, lol.. Even after I adjusted it, it just sucked monkey *****

I agree that they are horrible, but this is for the people that are on a budget. Another reason alot of people go to aftermarket quadrant, is because to adjust the stock one is a PITA.

the quadrant is only like $20-30 and the entire adjustable cable is $50-60 from steeda and well worth it
