Default EGR System/ LT headers prob

So I just put BBK long tube headers on my '98 Cobra, they fit well and everything, but there is one problem. On the driver side header, the front EGR pipe doesn't fit onto the header. The thread on the header should stick straight up out of the frontmost pipe, instead, it sticks straight out the front, so there is absolutely no way to match up the egr pipe with the header...any suggestions or has anybody run into this before??

on my friends 1998 GT we took the Egr off and welded a bolt in the hole where the tube s'posed to go. but depending on where u live removeing the egr may not be a good idea.

also 1998 was the wierd year, nothing ever fits the way it should at all my friends 98 gt we hav problems doin the header install and suspension work

Why do you say depending on where you live it may not be a good idea?? As far as emissions or it can screw up the car in certain climates without the egr??

emissions, cant tamper with any emission devices in certain states. 98 was a weird year, bbk says that their cobra lts will fit any 32v cobra from 96-04.
so you stock tube is made to fit the front of the exh manifold and the bbk has it pointing up (egr connection), do all 96-98 cobras have the egr tube fwd, it not try to use a tube from a different year cobra i would assume.

yea emissions purposes was what i meant. but yea BBK's are s'posed to fit on a cobra in that 8 year range try what pcs said and try a different EGr tube. but if u dont have to smog your car yearly then i say toss the EGR in the stock parts reject pile lol

awesome thanks for the advice guys! for now i just got a 1/2" cap and capped off the front egr on the driver header cuz the rear egr on the driver side matches up as does the passenger one. so basically im still running the egr system minus one of the pipes on the driver header. do y'all think this will work or should i just toss the egr completely?
