Default 98 SVT Cobra Intake Question

I have a 98 SVT Cobra and it has a Pro M intake filter.Does it need the stock black cover or can it be exposed?

umm i cover mine, its got a hole in the bottom for airflow, all the cover does is keep dirt and water out.

ok thanks man so if water or dirt get in it whats it going to **** up ??

The plastic cover is also a heat shield, so you only get "Cold Air"
