I dont think one is more reliable then the other... the 32v makes more power... and has a higher rev...

2v - less moving parts = more reliable... Ill bet that if you look at the percentages taking into account volume over time the 2v is probably much more "reliable"

that said either can fugg up at any time, and in a practicle sense one is not going to be much more reliable than other - youd be alot better off gauging by use/maintaince/condition than just a 2v vs. 4v comparision

also the 2v costs a lot less to maintain 4v parts are bit more expensive as said above depending on mileage and how the car was taken care of plays a huge roll either can be reliable and either can be a PITA

i have an 03 cobra which is just shy of hitting 102k miles. very reliable, only problem is the alternator keeps going out, well just twice. but tis common with these cars.

I dont think reliabillity is a problem, its true that more parts is just more parts that can go wrong.BUT the 32 valve engine is built with more care and has more durable parts. The extra valves and springs wont make a difference. When was the last time you heard of valves and springs randomly failing with no connection to being over revved?(its always the drivers fault lol)The only thing I can think of is that there would be more possible problems from the aluminum block and being hard on it before its warmed up.

the 03-04s don't have the aluminum block like the 99-01's

03-04= Cast Iron
99-01= Windsor Aluminum Plant (WAP Block)

actually the 99s got the same 96-98 Teksids from Italy as did a few of the 01s, but the later 01s had the WAP.
