I dont understand why they are so damn expensive. I can buy a small block chevy cam for ~130 bucks but 4 cams for a cobra is gonna cost me 1200 bucks. weird.

because this is newer technology (less companies make these cams so they can jack up the price, but so many companies make push rod cams they have to be competitive and try to be cheaper than the other) also instead of 1 cam you're getting 4, and you need a lot more supporting components to go with them.

the FRPP kit is the good deal i think cause the only ppl i knw that make 4v cams is crower and comp, they are like 899 for cams only but anything above stage 1 they require new valvesprings and they can cost like 500 so u mite as well get new valves and stuff too

Just put the money toward a TT Kit, which I happen to have for sale.
If not, I would really only put cams for sound.

I bought my Cobra with Stage 1 Comp Cams in it already. It does sound super mean but Im so glad I didnt have to cam it myself. My god friend has an 03 Terminator pushing 600hp at the flywheel. He told me until he can get 600 to the tires he wont cam it because the price to power # just doesnt add up. Honestly if mine wasnt already cammed it would get cammed. Plus installation isnt anywhere as easy as a pushrod cam. A shop where I live wanted $500 to install a set of 4V cams.

I would like to see where you get more then 50rwhp for cams. Please show me proof... Have never seen a 4v Cobra get that much from the install on cams..

It's still close to, or more then a 2grand mod... 1200 for cams, another 4-500 for install and another 3-400 for tune...

here is some engine graphs off an engine dyno running and 03/04 cobra iron block using some XE262AH cams 63hp and 51tq. you can also sqeeze out about 10-14 more over the last line from the cam swap from beginning to end by advancing the intake cams from 114.5 to 108 degrees.

the mods on this particular motor are a ported 01 cobra intake and fr500 heads, 10:5:1 compression, tweeked air and fuel ratio and a F.A.S.T. management system
