rear end problems
today i went to the oil change place to have them check my tire pressure. one of the guys there had said that the fluid in our rear end gets broken down real easily and with the torque the car puts out it needs to be changed more often then normal. just wondering what you guys have heard or do for your cobras
thanks
thanks
+1; I have never heard that from anyone. Owner, or mechanic alike... On the 03' and '04's there tends to be a problem with the differential casing and it leaks until you replace some of the shims and bearings which is why you also hear the 'CLUNK' but that's about it.
Maybe he was a mechanic like my little sisters that told her that her car didn't come with an air filter stock and she should purchase one from them for $200.00 because it's hurting her gas mileage.

bad mechanics =( that why i try to do all the work myself. if you change the fluid make sure you get the friction modifier or get diff fluid that has something similar already in it. i just used royal purple last time i changed the fluid, i change it in the summer and in the winter on all my cars just to keep an eye on the gear wear.
