Default launching

Ok so let me set up another scenario. I am goin to the strip this Sat. and I need some advice. I just put a new Spec stage 2 clutch in that has about 700 miles on it, i just bought new nitto 315 drag radials and I am making 501 rwhp. The question is where do I launch from without hurtin anythin? I have just fixed my differential that wuz leaking and the rear end is stock so I need some help with this one, it will be my first time on a track too.

My experience with the Nitto's DR's is to do a good burn out...TP around 18psi....I found the be launch around 2200 rpm's....Good Luck!

nittos arn't really a drag radial. They don't cut it. But i had the best outcome with 14psi cold 15 hot, milky burnout start in the water, keep buring out till you hit the staging lights. Hot dry and stickey!!!

Ohhh also on cobras you ride the clutch out never everrr just let the clutch out(side step) its horrible on the rear. On my nittos with my eaton ride out at 3000 rpm when the clutch is all the way out smash away!!! If you start wheel hopping get off the gas, you will break something!!!

I have seen numerous videos of guys with Cobra popping driveshafts and busting rear ends popping the clutch. Is it just with the 03-04 because of the IRS or all years?

A lot of it has to do with the IRS (which was in 99 and up Cobras, I believe) the 03/04 is a lot stronger then the older ones...

I was able to get good launches.. I actually had my PSI down around 15-16psi for the track... and just do a burn out until you see the smoke in your side mirrors... and I was able to get out of the box leaving at like 4k on the tach...

Yeah I had always heard the solid rear axle solves alot of that problem. Just for fun one day I launched cold tires at 3,500 and went about 15 feet through 1st and 2nd. Just roasted the tires. left my dad a nice patch in front of his house!!! Im just marking my territory I guess.

The track where I go is well prepped.. Bradenton drag strip in Bradenton, Fl.. known for good prep... I have it on vid where you can see my tach if you don't believe me.. lol - but i got it all the way up to 4500 without much tire spin.. actually bogged down on my launches... 315's on low psi with a nice burn out.
