01 cobra

Thanks everyone! Yeah I looked into the differences between the 99 and 01 and the 01 has the 6 CD changer (not a big deal but nice) but I love the leather/suede seats and "cobra" on the rear. The spoiler is better too IMO. As far as insurance goes, I'm 32 with a great driving record and I pay $75 a month for full coverage with a $500 deductable on my 2000 GT with Allstate. Been that much for several years, it blows my mind when I see what people pay for insurance. Would it really go up that much if I upgraded to a non-supercharged cobra (non-vert)? After I sell my GT I'll be able to finance a 01 cobra easily, just want to make sure it's a great car to be proud of. Thanks for the advice everyone, hoping to join the SVT family soon!
I'm paying $117/mo. on my 01. I have tons of speeding tickets and minor moving violations, like rollings stops. I'm 31.

I'm 37, -bad driving record,- 02 prem. GT. Progressive ins. $620.00 month! Married ,multi-car discount. Can a Mach 1 be considered basically a rebadged 99-01 Cobra with a Shaker ? Not trying to start anything. I'd prefer a Mach or Termi any day over my GT.

My first late model Mustang was a 2003 Mach 1 I got with 3200 miles on it, they are a great car and turn heads everywhere you go (at least AB does).
Just recently picked up a 2001 Cobra vert with 22k miles and not a scratch. Power-wise these cars feel the same, as they should with essentially the same engine in them. The Mach 1's are lighter, the 01 Cobra a little more upscale I think and of course the IRS is nice.
You cannot go wrong with either one if that is what you want. I will say this though, if you are tempted to add forced induction down the road then these cars aren't a great choice. The aluminum blocks, non-forged bottoms, and a dohc prone to leaks are going to force you to spend a lot to achieve numbers that are easy on a Terminator.
You guys spend a lot on insurance, I haven't paid more than $180 every SIX months for any car I've owned - but I don't bite the comp/col. hook.

Yeah, $620 @ month- I bought a lil 280 hp. Mazda Grand Touring Turbo, short throw shift full exhaust, took a corner too fast ( down shifted to engine brake during a panic stop) launched off road flipped 5 times bounced off an oak tree, TA DA! -walked away. I had made one payment. Aug.-Sept. So I went back to my fully built GMC SLT Sierra, 5.3, Thunder Racing cust. cam, (cust. tuned),Patriot heads,3 angle valve job, cold air,etc.,4l60 w/ 3000 patriot stall, valve body,Vette servo's,stage 3 shift kit, Eaton posi, 3.73 motives. I had about 1500 miles on this setup in Sept. when I was side-swiped in a const. zone and ran into the concrete dividing wall blowing 2 20" rims & tires. I bought 4 new rims & tires to get it moving again, BEFORE Ins. Adjuster came out & totalled it. So -I bought the GT in Oct. Progressive held me 50% at fault on the sideswipe. So 2 totals in 2 mos., plus the GT. When it rains it pours!!
