im curious what boost you would consider acceptable on a cobra bone stock down to the filter.

Ahhh... hummm... Pretty much everyone does exhaust and intake that I know. You can break the 400 mark easy with intake exhaust and a tune first. But if you really want to put a pulley on just get an intake and a pulley at the same time with a tune with a 2.93 upper pulley only. You should be set with around 430 rwhp give or take some hp depending on the cobra...

acceptable on a bone stock cobra is 8psi(stock).
no need for more boost if you have no cooling mods.
these cars run hot.

I just bought an '03 Cobra and I am thinking about putting on a 2.81 pulley with the performance tuner. I wonder if it will make a major difference. I have intake and exhaust and just want more boost. Would it make a big difference or even safe?

 

Just go billitflow 2.76 and get a dyno tune. I would advise against using a canned tune on a tuner with a smaller pulley.

 

You'll feel a big difference with that pulley + your current mods! ...A good tune is needed...I'm currently running a canned tune from RWTD with a SCT Xcal2...Headed to the dyno in the spring...
