Intake, exhaust, gears, and tires, and that's considering equal driving abilities.

4.10 or 4.30 gears... and traction.... just with at least 4.10s the Cobra is a low 13 second car... It's few and far between that Fbodies run that stock...

ok knew a guy with a z28, auto, ran 13.8 stock. so figure if you have your basic bolt-on you're covered. have yet to run up on one myself.

wyte... the LS1 Z28s are ALL OVER THE MAP.. I have seen people run 12.9 stock, and can't break a 13.8 stock... depends on the options they have with the car...

Gears alone will allow you to beat a lot of them

Most noticeably...the snake needs way more torque earlier in it's powerband (see cubic inches). By the time it bears it's teeth with the "320hp" the race is all tailights...

the 4.10's will help out big time in the early RPM's...also, why not add a SC??

Screw the gears. And F/I is what everyone does. I remember reading C&D back in the day and being so dissappointed that an SVT Cobra couldn't deal with a run of the mill Z28 back in '97. Ford lost me with the smaller displacement and ended up going with F/I which is costlier to run and maintain. They lost to the 427 with the 429 and then their nuts got sucked up through their a$$holes for 30 years. I for one think there has to be a change as far as powerplant development is concerned. If my piddly-assed '93 can run to 100 with an '08 you know something's wrong. 15 years and yes it's luxurious and sleek but please, it's been nutsacked for years. I'm not spending $55K on something that a used LS1 based Z28 can eat with a cam and full exhaust...okay, and maybe heads but still...

well the main thing the Camaro has over the Cobra is it's weight. camaro weighs like 400 lbs less than the Cobra. thats a big difference. that right there accounts for around a half second in the 1/4 mile.
