Question EGR Removal????

well today i got my BBK Longtubes they look awsome and i cant wait to put them in. as for my EGR im thinking about taking it off, is there any benefit to removing it or no? my friend took his off when he put shorties on his GT and then the tune im getting shuts the emmissions off. i dont live in a state that requires a smog annually. i was wondering what u guys think.

thanks

i deleted mine because i didnt want to worry about buying the tube for it and have the EGR sitting on the intake (looks cleaner with out it) plus one less thing to worry about having problems occuring. its main purpose is for better emissions in the environment. i dont think that it gives you any power gains but you will want to have it turned off in your tune. dagostino racing sells a kit for $29 that has a nut that goes on the header and a block off plate for the intake.

there's just one wire attached to your harness, that plugs into the EGR. Mine just hangs. I suppose you can get fancy, and find something to cover it, and make it look pretty.
