dragging exhaust
i have a 01 cobra 'vert lowered and i drag my exhaust on EVERYTHING... even when i creep as slow as possible, i drag... i have a flowmaster catback on now and the other day it dragged so bad, the muffler now has a hole in it... am i the only one with this problem?? i love the look of the car that low, but i think i might have to raise it... im not sure what kind of springs are on it now (were on it when i bought it), but what kind of springs would give me a low stance, but enough clearance for my exhaust???? also, i have looked everywhere and i have yet to find a muffler smaller than 4" (height)... does anyone know of any smaller than this?? hopefully this makes sense... any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I have heard people that have had problems with there flowmasters dragging. I think they just hang to low in general. Look into either borla stingers, bassani or magnaflow. I believe they all have good clearance. I love my stingers.
yep, i have a bassani catback. I don't drag or hit my mufflers anywhere. Now my midpipe, bbk o/r x pipe, scrapes everywhere. get quality parts. The bassani mid pipe is known to have good clearance, which is the next one i'll buy when money allows it. BTW, i'm lowered about 2 inches.
I also had exhaust dragging problems when I bought my 01 Cobra. It had H&R springs, which lowered 2 inches. I only had problems with the x-pipes though. I had BBK off-road x-pipe and also flowmaster catted x. They both dragged, but only extreme rough conditions did the mufflers drag. I tired of repairing/replacing x-pipes, so I bought new stock springs and put it back to original height. There are too many rough streets in my area to put up with damaged exhaust. I do think mustangs look better lowered and I get a little more wheel hop with the IRS now. But with good tires and bushings, it is minimal. It all comes down to compromise. You could maybe raise it a little and make it livable.
Same thing here, bbk o/r xpipe and catback flowmasters
You just have to be extra careful, and realize you have to go over bumps sideways. I scrape sometimes when I hit bridges though on the interstate, that's how bad it is. Only if a lot of people are in the car though usually

Thanks guys i appreciate the advice!!!! im thinking about going with the UPR catted x pipe and switching to magnaflow catbacks.... hopefully i will have enough clearance with this setup... otherwise, a-raising i will go....
