I have an 01 Cobra with a Granatelli MAF Upgrade (stock diameter), bbk cai, and a bbk twin 65mm throttle body.

I have been looking around for some time at performance intakes for the 01 Cobras and they are REALLY expensive. I have spoken with someone who is experienced with porting intakes and I am thinking about going this route.

Is there anything I should know about porting an 01 4.6 4V intake before undertaking this. Any tips or advice on how to go about porting the intake?

To do it properly you have to cut the lower intake to be able to get to the bottom of the runners. Then you would have to weld it back together. If you have the skills to do that then go for it.

 

I would not recommend it...
