Default Questions about '01 Cobra

Hey everyone. I just bought a 2001 Cobra and I am having a few problems. First off, I can NOT speed shift this thing. It has a Steeda Tri-Ax shifter in it and I took it apart to see if anything was worn at all but it all looked to be in great shape. It still has the stock quadrant and cable in it but could that be my problem? I've also heard that if it has a weighted clutch its impossible to speed shift the transmission. I have a new quadrant and cable on the way just in case. What could be the problem?

Second question: I'm getting 15 mpg in this thing! My RPM's hang. Also, when I come to a stop, the RPM's drop to as low as 250 sometimes and then jump back up to around 800. My first thought was a vacuum leak causing the weird RPM's but all my lines seem fine. I haven't done a starting fluid fog yet though. I cleaned my IAC, MAF. and throttle body really well which seems to have helped but not solved the problem. Keep in mind the car has BBK headers, a BBK offroad X-Pipe, and Flowmasters. There are NO cats on this thing and its throwing all 4 oxygen sensor codes. I'm sure its running rich due to the O2 sensors going crazy but could this be the problem with the RPM's too?

Seriously guys, ANY input will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Sounds like you need to get that thing tuned. You will be amazed by how many problems are solved if you get it dyno tuned. I get 13mpg in mine. By speed shift, do you mean power shift? Is so why are you trying to anyways?

Well i just mean that I can't shift quickly. It just feels wrong to me. It may just be me but I don't think it is. Is it just hard to shift a T-3650 fast? And what exactly is the difference between speed shifting and power shifting?

Oh ok. No thats not at all what I'm talking about. I wouldn't ever do that. I just want to be able to shift quickly. Its frustrating pulling hard on a car you lined up next to and losing tons of time due to being off the throttle for too long! I know Steeda is a great company and make top notch products but has anyone else had this problem with one of their shifters?

Sounds like it is in desperate need of a driver mod.

Haha thats honestly what I first thought Blessed. But I've had a few other people drive it and they have backed up my feeling. Maybe I should just man up and start pulling harder.
