Thumbs up New Vortech SC

Through an agreement with Lysholm Technologies, Vortech will distribute automotive systems and tuner kits in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Vortech becomes the only aftermarket manufacturer to offer both centrifugal and twin-screw, compression-type superchargers.

The VL is a unique positive displacement design that provides maximum low-end torque as well as high efficiency for maximum top-end horsepower..

Initial Ford applications include ’07-’09 Shelby GT500 and Shelby GT500KR Mustangs plus the ’03-’04 Mustang Cobra as a direct replacement for the OE Roots-type supercharger in 2.3L and 3.3L compressor sizing to support power in the 700hp range (with 3.3L).

Features include a plenum design with increased volume that allows for an unrestricted flow to the intake port and integrated bypass valve. The compressor mounts mount to the stock supercharger’s air/water charge cooler with the included adapter plate.

Calibration is accomplished through the DiabloSport Predator hand-held programmer that controls ignition timing and fuel enrichment.

These are complete bolt-on system including all necessary belts, pulleys and fasteners. A Vortech 3-year/36,000-mile powertrain limited warranty is available.

It looks just like a whipple but with a vortech word stamped on it. I wonder if there can be some kind of lawsuit?

I read about it in my new magazine called "Hot mustang Projects" Its from the editors of MM&FF. You should pick it up, great magazine and it has the top 10 low buck parts under $500. It says comes out in 2009.

I saw this Vortech SC in 5.0 Mustang myself...sounds to me like Lysholm Technologies designed the SC with Vortech's name on it (selling point!)....I would consider this SC...I use to run a Vortech T-trim on my '91 GT, excellent product!

I wanna see what the price is. I would consider it also. It would be great if it was cheaper then the whipple and KB.
