Default 180 degree thmst?

quick question, is it worth getting the 180 degree thermostat for my cobra with the mods listed below? can it hurt it in anyway with any mods or not tuned and what are the benefits exactly of running cooler (i.e. more hp, tq, or just better for the car)

ya its def worth it.. cant beat $20. i have pretty much the exact car with similar mods but i just had a 160* installed

have you considered the head cooling mod? at least if your going to have the thermostat open all the time, you might as well have it circulating also

Has that ever been proven? I'm just wondering if lower therms actually do add?

a cooler thermostat will allow the engine to run slightly cooler allowing you to run more timing as for the 03-04 cobras, they already run hot so a cooler thermostat will help out nicely.

I would get the head cooling mod... especially with your mods... Cool down your Cobra or replace the top half of the motor... you tell us which is cheaper.

You can't afford to be cheap when it comes to these cars, do it the right way - or don't do it at all.

As far as your original question having the tstat (I had a 160 in mine if i remember correctly) it just causes your car to start cooling itself off earlier (at 160 deg, instead of higher)... It is worth it, but the head cooling mod with your boost#'s is a bit more important
