Intake for 96-98 Cobra
I've been looking into making my 98 SVT breathe a little better. The few products that i've looked into are the C&L trueflow plenum, which seems to be a waste of money. The website claims 4hp for $150. The 80mm MAF from C&L, which the website shows a dyno slip with a 17hp increase on a stock 98. And the K&N air filter in the stock air box. I'm sure there are people out there with all of these products. What do you think? Do I have to get any kind of computer work to get the 80mm MAF, or is it direct bolt on? Is the trueflow plenum worth the money? Thanks guys...
I'm also looking into 3.73 gears, any satisfaction/dissatisfaction stories?

i would go 4.10 gears and the things you are looking at are okay, you just have to realize that you will never see a 17hp increase from a maf. You really only need to upgrade the MAF if you have other more serious power increasing mods and are going to switch to bigger injectors. You really dont want to stick with the factory airbox either, it also is depriving air. I would recommend that you find a cold air intake that goes into the fender tons of companies offer them. Other mods to consider would be underdrive pulleys which will give you the most bang for the buck. An exhaust system would also increase power especially with the addition of a cold air intake. Short shifters also offer quicker shifts and a better feel. Remember to make sure you have good plugs and wires helping insure you car is working properly. You do not need to get a computer chip but if you did several upgrades it is a smart investment to get the most out of the additionally if you swap gears you can correct the spedometer.
